The positive and defining impact of art on the world around us is something that is ingrained in Alumno’s ethos. Our aim, as a developer, is to not simply roll out building after building, but to create engaging and inspirational environments that fit the context of their surroundings, alongside interiors that evoke a sense of peace, comfort and calm. Every Alumno project tells its own story with its own unique narrative. And it’s these stories that lead us in different directions when curating art, design and furniture for every building.

Creative Consultant Matthew Jarratt has assisted Alumno in commissioning contemporary art for its developments, working closely with founder David Campbell, a self-confessed fanatic of the arts. “Inspirational art work can define people’s relationship to the space and locations they find themselves in. It can soften that initial entry point to a building, making time spent there more enjoyable, particularly important with student accommodation,” says David.
