Alumno’s Sheraton Park development is the largest commission produced with three international sculptures and a poetry commission across a new sculpture park. Matthew Jarratt developed a theme of international pilgrimage and journeys.

The three artists – Italian artist Fabio Viale, American artist Bruce Gernand and renowned Chinese contemporary artist Xiang Yang – were drawn from regions that have strong links to Durham University, while the ‘Welcome’ poem was written by North East-based poet Ira Lightman.
