Summer is here and the time is right to share Alumno`s progress in June.
We started the month at our new site in Birmingham with Glenn Howells Architects. It received more positive coverage on the planning decision by Property Europe Magazine, Architecture Insight, Connect East Midlands and Building Magazine. The £24m new scheme is due to be completed in 2023 and will house close to 170 students.
June 2021 marks 60 years since the opening of Park Hill in Sheffield. It was June 1961 that the new housing complex was opened in Sheffield. In 1998 it was given Grade 2 * listed status. Between those times it has had a mixed history from being heralded as a new continental way of living to a no go area. Alumno have been proud to be major contributor in the continued renovation and improvement of Park Hill. Our student accommodation scheme Beton house at Park Hill opened its doors to students in September 2020. The “streets in the sky” lent itself beautifully to creating student accommodation. A great deal of thought and care was put into making Beton House a fantastic place for students to live.
We received some amazing photos of our London Scheme, Aspire Point, located in Stratford by Gerald Mclean, who was commissioned by HG Construction. The accommodation hosts 397 en-suite rooms, 42 non en-suite rooms, 6 studio flats and 20 disability accessible en-suite bedrooms. Check out our Instagram to see more images.
We end the month with photos from our new scheme in Brighton, Falmer Cottages as the show unit is now open for viewings with Homes for Students. Falmer Cottages will host 71 students for Brighton Screen School and is in fantastic proximity to the train station for environmentally friendly travel.
