Another month, another review. August was filled with progress updates, behind the scenes look and even some news features.
August started with our new Manchester scheme being featured in World Architecture News. The new scheme will consist of 62 studios apartments, along with a communal area, rooftop terrace, storage space for bikes and we will be working in partnership with charity One Manchester. Keep a look out on our website and socials for updates on this new scheme.
Our Sheffield photography competition will be coming to an end on the 1st September, but there is still time to enter. The Sheffield Star ran a great feature about it at the beginning of the month which highlighted the competition, the inspiration behind it and the most important part, how to enter.
August has been a very busy month for our third scheme in Norwich, Benedicts Gate, as we near completion in September. Our project manager has been very busy visiting the site every week to make sure everything is on track, while keeping to the governments guidelines. Over the past few months we have seen the scaffolding come down from the exterior, the studio rooms, communal kitchens and social spaces taking shape. Check out @benedictsgate on Instagram to see behind the scenes photos, student deals and other special content.
Park Hill is becoming more than just a regeneration project, it is also becoming a beacon for other old buildings as many are being knocked down and re-built with more suitable replacements. In the past there has been a debate about whether this was the best option for the climate, this is now widely considered a mistake as the amount of carbon emitted during the construction of the new building is more than a regeneration project. Mid-August saw another one of our new schemes be featured in a magazine. Our new Brighton Scheme, Lewes Road was featured in University Business Magazine. The scheme will be in partnership with The Screen and Film School in Brighton.
Not only will Benedicts Gate be completed in September but so will our Sheffield Scheme, Beton House, which is part of the regeneration scheme at Park Hill run by Urban Splash. Our friends at Whittam Cox Architecture shared with us amazing images by David Riley Model Making of his model of Beton House and Park Hill. These can be viewed at Urban Splash’s office at Park Hill.
We end August in Norwich with our Friends at the Norfolk & Norwich Festival and John Fielding Photography. The Norfolk & Norwich Festival have announced Luke Jerram’s latest work, In Memoriam, as part of Norwich Theatre and Lost in Translation Cicus’ summer events programme INTERLUDE between the 4th and 6th September at Chapelfield Gardens. We are proud supporters of the N&N Festival and hope this is a massive success. Find out more here: https://nnfestival.org.uk/whats-on/in-memoriam/?dm_i=5HR0%2C8RWD%2C2EE1AT%2CYW25%2C1

The month has been filled with so many positive news between our two almost completed schemes and fresh new ones that we look forward to bringing to life. September is looking to be a very busy month with two schemes being completed and new students walking through the doors. Keep an eye on our socials for updates and news.
