Alumno are pleased to announce that we have given the green light to Westridge Construction to begin work on a new project in the Falmer district of Brighton and Hove.
The new four-storey Falmer Cottages student residence is being built in association with the British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM), Europe’s largest and leading provider of music education, which counts James Bay and George Ezra among its alumni. Our new development will be located close to BIMM’s Brighton campus and adjacent to Falmer train station, making it also easily accessible to students from the University of Sussex and the University of Brighton.
Falmer Cottages will accommodate 71 students across 55 en-suite and 16 studio rooms with a large communal area located on the ground floor along with laundry facilities, a reception and a main entrance with a summer 2021 completion. Alumno are also excited to continue benefiting the local communities and supporting the arts with a commissioned bespoke permanent art installation for the exterior of the development.
Alumno Managing Director David Campbell said “We are delighted to announce the beginning of the construction process on our first student residence in Brighton and are excited to be working with the BIMM on the project via a nomination agreement, Falmer Cottages will deliver the same high standards displayed by all our developments and meet the growing need for student accommodation in the city.”
