“Photography competitions matter. Responding to a brief can push you out of your comfort zone and develop an idea or theme not attempted before. Competitions allow your work to be seen and validated by industry experts and to elevate your profile. The prizes are undoubtedly helpful. With traditional outlets for images diminishing”
