Alumno are continuing to support Theatre Peckham with their fantastic work in the Southwark area, this year we have sponsored their Fringe festival
Theatre Peckhams second Fringe festival was programmed by Theatre Peckham Ambassadors who are a group of local community champions that represent the voice of the local community. Peckham Fringe was set-up to offer Artists and Companies the chance to try out something different in a dynamic and supportive setting. Theatre Peckham champions untold stories and provides a space for these to be heard by the local community. Theatre Peckham supported the artists with free rehearsals space at their new Canada Water venue situated in the Library as well as marketing support to boost their shows.
The festival consisted of 17 shows, 34 performances across 5 weeks. The programme reached 2,160 audience members, many of whom were hyperlocal residents from the local Peckham and Camberwell estates.
‘Just wanted to send a big THANK YOU from all of us creatives in Mammy Be Grand for the warmth and generosity you gave us over the weekend while performing at Theatre Peckham. Thank you for being so accommodating and giving in your beautiful theatre. We are so grateful to have had your support!’ Creative team of NED, a company that performed as part of the festival.
The wrap party was organised by the Young Producers, a group of Black emerging producers who received mentoring and training in Producing over 10 weeks. The final event brought together everyone who had performed as part of the season and provided an opportunity for networking and celebration of all that had been achieved.
