Bath College Students visiting our Construction site in Bath

The Site team of Red Construction welcomed a small group of Students enrolled in construction related courses at Bath College to our Building Site at Lower Bristol Road in Bath (Twerton) in October. This followed a productive and supportive liaison between the Business & Skills Department at Bath & North East Somerset Council, Bath College, Red Construction and Alumno.

It is very gratifying to be able to build bridges between young and aspiring students and the reality of a working site with all its dynamics, challenges and of course a site team which can share some valuable experiences. While Bath College has a great reputation of equipping students with valuable skills and preparing them for the work life, a real site experience undoubtedly benefits and puts things in perspective.

Red Construction are well underway and nearing topping out and waterproofing the building, ready for the opening of a marketing unit early next year. This was the perfect time for students to see the raw building structure taking shape, witness trades to interact and learn about logistical challenges and operating on a space restricted building site directly on the River Avon. Alumno is grateful to be able to contribute a small part to the student’s education curriculum and hopes to repeat this experience many times.
